SCHEDULE OF EVENTS 9:30am Gate opens for arrivals 10:00am Opening Gathering with Rev. Selena Fox, Becky & others Gather at the May Pole for our welcoming ceremony. Make yourself at home as we meet fellow festival goers, raise some energy, and learn about the day ahead. 10:30am Break 11am – 12pm Nature Communion with Selena Fox at the Picnic Tables Explore some ways of attuning to Nature for healing and wellness for self and Planet. This presentation will also be live-streamed free. Register at https://circlesanctuary.org/event-5677439 Earth Day Family Activity - Craft Making Activity with Becky in the Temple Room Plastic bags are no longer allowed in recycling carts in Madison. We’ll take plastic bags to fold, cut and tie together to make plastic yarn also known as plarn. Crochet hooks will be available for people to crochet bags, coasters, mats or whatever they want to create. You don’t have to know how to crochet you can come to just make the plarn. Bags will be provided but you can also bring your plastic bags from home. 12-1pm Lunch Break Bring a sack lunch to enjoy on the land or at a picnic table behind the barn. Please consider reducing waste as you pack your lunch. Please no peanut products. 1 - 2 PM Discover Circle Sanctuary with local Botanist Nate Martineau and Dr. Dennis Carpenter Dr. Dennis has been familiar with Circle Sanctuary land for over 40 years while Nate is new to the nature preserve. Both will take us on a mindful Spring-time journey with Nate using his naturalist skills to learn about the land along with all of you! People will be invited to ask him about the Driftless Area and native plants. Earth Day Family Activity 2pm Break 2:30-3:30pm Recycling: What You've Always Wanted to Know About Recyling but Were Afraid to Ask Michael Bryant will be presenting a talk on recycling. Michael was awarded the designation of Master Recycler by Sustain Dane after completing their course of study on recycling and developing a presentation that was delivered to several groups around Dane County. Sustain Dane is the sustainability organization of Dane County and Madison, WI. They provide the resources and inspiration for individuals, businesses, and organizations to generate change. Sustain Dane's vision is a thriving and inclusive community with a sustainable environment and economy we are proud to pass on to future generations. Their mission is to inspire, connect, and support people to accelerate equity and sustainable actions for community well-being. In this presentation Michael will cover the Seven Rs of Waste and Sustainability, what can and cannot be recycled and how we can all make a difference. Earth Day Family Activity with Nate and Jake Families will have a scavenger hunt while taking a walk along the Nature trails. They’ll gather items on their list then go back to the picnic table near the barn where they will be met by Nate and Jake who will show everyone how to make mandalas with Sun paper. 3:30pm Break and time to traverse to Stone Circle for Ceremony 4pm Earth Day Ceremony with Reverend Selena Fox & Others at Stone Circle Community celebration of Earth Day and Planet Earth. Bring a stone, crystal or rock to add to the Stone Circle during the ceremony. Bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on, if you wish. 4:30pm Green Cemetery Tour with Rev. Selena Fox & Dr. Dennis Carpenter Circle Cemetery is Wisconsin's first Green Cemetery and one of the first Green cemeteries in the nation. Short tour of the ridgetop, restored prairie, and full body natural burial ground. 5pm Community Cleanup and Departures Thank you for coming out today!
