Embrace vibrant rebirth and the illuminating warmth of Beltane at Circle Sanctuary. The gentle unfolding of blossoms reminds us of life’s continued growth and renewal, while the dancing flames symbolize passion, transformation, and connection. As we gather to honor the earth’s awakening, together with music, movement, and ritual, we unite our intentions with the radiant energy that enlivens the land. By moving amidst blossoms and fire, we open our hearts to the season’s abundant blessings, celebrating both the beauty of nature’s renewal and the shared spark of community spirit.

Friday, May 2nd

11:00am Gate opens for Vendor arrivals and set-up

1:00pm Gate opens for General Participant Arrival

2:00pm Merchanting Opens on The Green

3:00pm Sing in the May with Leigh in the Temple Room

Together, we use our voices, hands, rattles and feet to speak, sing, and move our bodies to get the Beltane energy flowing.  All experience levels and physical capabilities are welcome - including people who "can't sing".  If you have a favorite rattle or small rhythm instrument, please bring it!  Know some great chants?  Bring them too!

4:30pm Fairy Shrine Blessing with Rev. Selena Fox and others

Gather at the Fairy Folk Shrine and honor the Fae, also known as Sidhe & Fairy Folk.  Bring fresh flowers, dried herbs, small crystals or other offerings to leave at the Shrine.  Open to all ages.

5:30pm Dinner served behind the farmhouse

7:00pm Festival Announcements and Opening Ritual at the Maypole with Lacie & Others

8:30pm Concert by Alexander James Adams! 

A professional musician of over forty years, Alec has always used magic in his performances to transform and inspire his listeners into states

of being that leave them changed for the better. Using the stories and songs of Antiquity, he creates places where the audience can find their

unspoken secrets and address them with new inspiration.

9:00am Wreaths & Masks - Channeling Intention into Magical Adornments! with Sprill in the Temple Room

Gather in the Temple Room to craft enchanting garlands, wreaths, and masks! Join Sprill as she guides you in channeling Beltane magic and intention into your wearable works of art - perfect for the festival, as ritual adornments, or to enhance your home altar with the spirit of the season.  While materials will be provided, we strongly encourage you to bring your own cherished dried, fresh, everlasting, or silk flowers - or any other magical elements you'd like to incorporate into your Magical Beltane adornment!

10:00am Saturday Morning Family Programming with Rev. Florence and McKenzie

For ages 5 and under:  Freeform play and activities. 

For ages 6 and up:  Sacred Spaces Hike and Orientation.  Walk the grounds to explore significant sacred spaces and learn guidelines for respectful interaction.  Programming subject to change due to attendance. 

Meet at the Family Programming tent.  

10:30am Unwrapping the Maypole with Leigh

Join in the fun of unwrapping the ribbons on the Maypole! 

11:00am Beltane Court Drawing! At the Maypole!

Drawing will be held for those who entered themselves into the May Royalty drawings!  Join us!

11:30am Oak Apple Morris Dancers Perform! At the Maypole!

Celebrate with the Oak Apple Morris Dancers and their traditional fertility dances!

1:15pm Newcomers Meet & Greet at the picnic tables beside the barn with Rev. Minerva

Come meet new folks, ask questions, learn about Circle Sanctuary!  Old-times welcome too!

2:00pm Beltane Flower Magic & Rituals with Selena Fox in the Temple Room

Celebrate Beltane and Bring in the May with old and new flower customs, meditations, and rituals.  Explore ways of working with living flowers, cut flowers, and flower imagery for enhancing relationships, home blessings, creative awakening, healing and spiritual well-being.   Bring at least one flower or flower image to work with in meditation.  Also bring a notebook and pen for noting guidance and ideas.  Participation in this workshop is included with in person festival registration.  Workshop also available through livestream via zoom.  Register by April 30th at midnight at:  https://circlesanctuary.org/event-6136564

2:00pm Saturday Family Programing with Rev. Florence and McKenzie

Ages 5 and under:  Freeform play and activities.

For ages 6 and up:  Land Spirit Meet & Greet.  Learn about finding and respecting land spirits.  Includes a short lesson land spirit lore, a craft component of the Japanese Shimenawa tradition, and a practical outdoor honoring a rock or tree.  

3:30pm Herbal Bundle Fire Offerings with Syh Allegra in the Temple Room

Craft an herb bundle with your customized intention to be used in our Bale Fire Ritual - or to take home.  A variety of dried herbs will be provided.  We will learn about the spiritual properties of the herbs, including astrological correspondences and traditional uses in magick.  Syh will also offer ideas on how to apply different herbs for manifesting specific intentions.  While a selection of herbs will be available, participants are welcome to bring their own herbal allies - such as a clipping from a beloved garden plant.  

3:30pm Saturday Family Programming with Rev. Florence and McKenzie

Ages 5 and under:  Freeform play and activities.

Ages 6 and up:  The Magic of Kinetic and Potential Energy

A brief, engaging workshop using simple physics experiments to draw parallels with magical energy.

Meet at the Family Programming tent.  

Programming subject to change due to attendance. 

4:30pm Youth Wrapping of the Maypole! at the small Maypole by the kitchen

4:30pm Adult Practice Wrapping of the Maypole for those who signed up on the Green!

For those that signed up at the gate to Dance the Maypole for ritual please join in practice as we dance and weave the ribbons together for the dance to be held during the evening ritual.

5:00pm Raffle & Silent Auction Ends! with Amanda & Others

The always exiting wrap up of the Silent Auction and awarding of raffle items!  You must be present to win or send a proxy!

6:00pm Dinner served behind the farmhouse

7:30pm Blossoms & Flames Ritual beginning at the Maypole!  Facilitated by Leigh and others

A community celebration featuring Maypole dancing, invocations, and the lighting of the bale fire!  Bring your Herbal Fire Offering Bundle if you made one!

8:30pm Beltane Fire Leaping!

Participants may jump over the fire for blessings of fertility, courage, and prosperity!

9:00pm Bonfire Drum Circle - with Shouting Mountain & The Coven of the Drum

Bring your drums, rattles, noise makers, voices, and energy as we celebrate and dance around the fire!

Sunday, May 4th

8:00am Gate opens for arrivals

8:00am Wings of Wonder:  Bird Walk with Florence

Start your morning with Florence on a peaceful bird watching walk through Circle Sanctuary's Sacred Land.  You may consider joining the Great Wisconsin Birdathon and collecting pledges based on the number of bird species you spot!  Celebrate nature, support conservations, and emjoy the magic of birdsong.  

8-9:00am Continental breakfast in the Summer Kitchen

9:30am Mindful Woodland Walk with Dennis Carpenter

Let's explore the woods of Circle Sanctuary together at this height of springtime.  We will connect more deeply with our bodies and with the trees and experience the profound interconnectedness of all life. Be prepared for walking in any weather conditions, including walking shoes and drinking water.  Meet in the parking lot in front of the barn. 

10:30am Exploring the Polarity of Beltane - Going beyond the Sterotypes with Juniper & The Gnome in the Temple Room

The celebration of Beltane often involves the archetypes of May King and May Queen.  In these times of gender flexibility these archetypes, while still valid, may be limiting to many.   We will discuss and explore alternatives, and other ways to approach this very important part of our Pagan way.

1:30pm Closing Ritual at the Maypole with Lacie and others

Reflect on the festival and share blessings for the journey home.

3:00pm Final Departures

TO BRING:

  • An item or two to donate for the Raffle/Silent Auction.
  • Ritual garb appropriate for the time of the year.
  • Your own bottle/cup for water, and/or a mug for coffee & tea.
  • Drum, rattle, or other musical instrument.
  • A pen and notebook to take notes during workshops.
  • Camping gear:  tent, sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress, flashlight, personal toiletries, biodegradable soap/shampoo, clothing and footwear for all kinds of weather, insect and tick repellant. 
  • Flower or imagery of a flower for Selena's workshop.
  • Ribbon, flowers (fresh or dried), trinkets to make your Beltane headdresses and masks. 
  • Small crystals or other offerings for the Fairy Shrine Blessing



DO NOT BRING:

  • Any peanut products or peanuts due to severe airborne allergy of several attendees!
  • Unregistered people - no at gate registration
  • Pets
  • Firearms or fireworks
  • Illegal drugs






Cancellation Policy:  Written cancellations with refund requests received five days before the event will be issued after the event, less 15% fee for processing.  No refunds will be granted for cancellations made less than 5 days before the start of the event.
