The most potent expressions of culture rooted at Circle Sanctuary and PSG come from authentic in-person experience. Our healing, transformative work is grounded in our shared humanity, as well as wisdom passed from our Elders and our peers. We already take one step away from this via social media such as Facebook; this we do to maintain some sort of connection year-round with a population spread across each US state and many other countries.
Which brings us to generative AI. Its training material is largely taken from human artists and writers without their consent, and we believe that healthy fruit does not arise from poisoned roots. Furthermore, it is often used as a substitution for individuals' imperfect, evolving artistic contributions. Artists are thus impoverished, and the growth process for its users is thus bypassed.
Therefore: generative AI-sourced material of any sort is unwelcome in Circle-operated spaces -- online or offline.
- Do not post material sourced from generative AI tools, whether prompted by you or someone else, and
- Do not take material posted by others and feed it INTO a generative AI: not only does that bypass the Mysteries of our paths, but it gifts AI engines with material that isn't yours to give away.
Our admin team will remove such material if it arises in a Circle-owned social media group. We realize this genie has escaped the bottle in broader society, but we will exercise our right to bar it here.
