Please consider reducing waste as you pack your lunch. 1:00PM Crafting Your Own Climate Stories with Nancy Vedder-Shults Recent research shows that one of the best ways, if not THE best way, to encourage climate action is to tell stories that star people like you and me. These are the kinds of stories that touch our listeners. We need to show others that climate change isn't some abstract, conceptual phenomenon, but a real person problem that affects people we can relate to, connect with, and care about. 1:00PM Earth Day Family Activity with Rev. Jake and Nate Children and youth will meet at the outdoor picnic table to paint windchimes. Activity will be moved indoors if there is rain. 2:00PM Break 2:30PM Garlic Mustard Pull Garlic mustard is an invasive plant that spreads its seeds in the winds and gains a foothold in fields and forests. Because it emerges earlier in the spring than many native plants, it blocks the sunlight and competes for the nutrients and moisture of native species. The best way to eradicate it is to hand-pull it in the spring when its small. Bring your gloves and help us pull! |
